When producing the idea of our top 10 horror shots we had to think rationally about how we was going to perform them and in what situation. Within our top 10 shots we included; over the shoulder shot to emphasis the conversation between the victim and the killer, a high angle to show the vulnerability of the victim, a close up of the killer to show the audience a hint of who to focus on throughout the film, we also included an off kilter shot of the killer to show the audience how it is different from the ordinary straight on shot which then enhances the tension throughout the audience that something unexpected is going to happen.
We showed this shot when the victims were as walking through the basement. we also used a 360 degree shot to show close up of fear on the victim left as the other victim had been killed. We also used a camera angle to show the audience the point of view of the killer which shows their aggression within their actions. We also used a shot from the point of view from the victim, crawling back trying to get away from the killer feeling scared, the effect that this has on the audience is by making them feel scared for what is going to happen to the victim.
We also showed shot reverse shot between the victim crawling back and the killer walking towards the victim. We also showed the victim on the floor with the killer on their back giving the audience the impression that the victims throat is being slit. Here we used the power of suggestion and how to kill someone without hurting them. We then showed a close up of the weapon to show the end of the victims life with blood on the knife.
