We decided that the time of day made all the difference when filming, for this we had to choose the right time of day to film. As a group we made the choice to film in the woods when the sun wasn't really out and when it wasn't very nice weather, meaning when it was foggy or dark, this was so that it looked creepy.
As a group we decided that our final decision was to film when the woods was quite dark and gloomy. This gave the effect of feeling unsafe when watching it because of how dark it was.
Another reason as to why we decided to film the woods like this is because it goes with what we have planned to film and it would mean that there would be natural effects on it to give it that spooky feeling. |
We decided to not film in the woods when the lighting was peaceful and sunny because we felt like as a group that it didnt give the right effect for our video.
We decided this because our task with filming was to create a horror, so this type of location setting wouldn't of gone with our storyline or make the emotions we want the audience to feel when watching it. |
We also thought that if we film during the day whilst being at the prison we would get the best lighting and shaded spaces so it would give our video the feeling of being the prison being dark and gloomy.
As a group we decided to film our final prison shots where the majority of spaces are shadowy and gloomy. We have aimed to match this with the lighting in the woods so the audience who watches it knows that there is something wrong and gives the normal emotions of being upset and worried for the characters.
The lighting gives off the effect of the prison being an unsafe place to be which makes the audience also feel unsafe. |
We all decided that doing the filming with the lighting like this doesn't match the emotions that we are trying to make the audience feel.
It doesn't give it the effect of a ghostly, haunted prison to make the audience feel cautious or unsafe about what they are watching. So in the end we decided that filming in this sort of lighting didn't go with what we were trying to produce. |
